Basic Bread

2 cups warm water
3 tsp active dry yeast
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
4 Tbsp olive oil
4 cups flour

1) Warm up water in a large bowl. The water should be warm to the touch, not too hot.
2) Mix in sugar and yeast, let sit for 3-5 minutes.
3) The yeast should now be bubbling up. Add in all remaining ingredients and begin kneading the dough.
4) Add in flour as needed. Once done kneading, let dough rise for 10-20 minutes.
5) Punch down dough, let rise for another 10-20 minutes.
6) Split dough into two pieces, place in bread dough pans.
7) While dough rises, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
8) Bake until crust is slightly browned, appx. 20-30 minutes.

Most packets of yeast ask for something like 100 Degree water.

Do you ever measure it with a thermometer or do you just go with “Yup. That feels like blood temperature.”?
